Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to fertilize my lawn?

The fall is the best time to feed your lawn. The weather is cooler and the grass is recovering from the harsh summer heat. A good fall feeding will strengthen the roots and improve overall appearance. JTL Landscaping has a fertilizing program that can be customized to fit your needs and your budget.

How much does a typical Landscape renovation cost?

There is no typical renovation cost because every job is unique to your needs. When I am asked this question I try to tell people to have a budget in mind and then I can work within that. Smaller jobs can start at around $2000.00 and go up to the tens of thousands. Here at JTL Landscaping we try to meet your interests and develop a plan and a budget to accomplish these goals.

When is the best time to renovate my lawn?

The fall is the best time to repair or replace your lawn. Renovation may be necessary due to damage from the summer heat, or it may be just time to aerate or thatch your lawn to get it back to its healthy shape. Aerating, thatching or over seeding your lawn once a year or at least every 2 years can improve your soil and your lawn. It can also help to push out any existing weeds that keep coming back each year.

Are there any advantages of Pavers vs. Concrete patios?

Yes. Concrete patios are nice especially stamped concrete, but pavers are just as strong and look that much nicer. Pavers have come along way since the introduction of the patio block. Now they come in many different shapes and sizes and designs and colors. With pavers you can customize to your liking, you can mix different colors or make your own pattern. You don't have to worry about them cracking like you do with concrete, because once that concrete cracks, you have to replace that whole slab. Whereas with pavers, if you ever have to repair you can lift each one up individually and replace if necessary. Pavers may cost a little more, but the end result you will appreciate more.
